| Obverse description | Central device depicts the arms of Augsburg: a crowned shield set upon an ornamental base, flanked by two winged putti as supporters, each holding a palm frond. Above the shield rises the celebrated Augsburg pine cone finial on a pedestal, the civic symbol of the city. The date MDCXXIV appears within a cartouche at the base of the composition. The circular legend reads MONETA NOVA REIPVB AVG, and a small rosette serves as a dividing ornament in the upper field. |
