Obverse description Central design depicts the façade of a Gothic church or city gate with two flanking towers, each surmounted by battlements, rendered in fine relief. The date 1608 appears in the field between the two towers. In the arched entrance portal at the base of the structure, the city arms of Hamelin — a wheel motif — are prominently displayed. The entire central design is enclosed within a raised inner circle, with the Latin legend surrounding it in the outer field.
