| Obverse description | Central field displays the crowned arms of Nuremberg — a divided shield bearing the Nuremberg eagle (displayed, facing left) on the dexter half and diagonal barry stripes on the sinister half — set within an ornate cartouche with scrollwork supporters. A crown surmounts the shield. The encircling Latin legend, separated by rosette stops, reads MONE. ARGENT. - REIP. NORNBERG., identifying the coin as the silver money of the Republic of Nuremberg. The entire design is bounded by a rope or cable border, characteristic of hammered Reichsguldinerthaler coinage of this period. |
