Obverse description Half-length figure of St. John the Baptist facing slightly left, clad in a camel-hair mantle with draped robes, cradling the Agnus Dei (Lamb of God) in his right arm while a cross-staff rises behind it to the right. The city arms of Lübeck — a quartered shield with eagle and diagonal bars, flanked by crescent moons and stars — appear on a cartouche in the lower field. A beaded inner border frames the design, with the circular Latin legend interrupted by the date and distributed around the periphery.
