| Description du revers | Nude Heracles seated left upon a rocky outcrop, holding a club upright in his right hand, in the manner derived from the reverse type of Euthydemus I of Bactria. The figure is rendered in a schematized imitative style characteristic of Sogdian provincial coinage. An uncertain Sogdian legend appears to the left of the figure, while a partially legible and distorted Greek legend is placed to the right. The overall composition closely follows the Hellenistic prototype but exhibits the degraded die-cutting typical of local Central Asian imitations. |
