| Obverse description | Central device displays the heraldic arms of the Apostolic Camera, comprising a shield charged with six six-pointed stars arranged in a triangular pattern, surmounted by the crossed keys of Saint Peter bound with a cord, above which rises the papal umbraculum (ombrellino) with its characteristic striped canopy, the emblem of sede vacante authority. The shield is flanked by elaborate baroque mantling with foliate and scrollwork supporters on either side. The circumferential legend in Latin reads SEDE VACANTE MDCLXXXIX, denoting the vacancy of the Holy See in 1689, and is separated from the milled border by a fine inner rim. |

| Reverse description | Central field depicts the Dove of the Holy Spirit with wings fully spread in descending flight, surrounded by an elaborate glory of radiating rays filling the entire field in high relief, a common Sede Vacante devotional motif invoking divine guidance during the interregnum. Below the dove, at the base of the design, appears the mint mark of the Rome Mint rendered as an ornate monogram flanked by the legend ROMA divided to either side. The circumferential inscription ACCENDE LVMEN SENSIBVS, a phrase drawn from the Veni Creator Spiritus hymn, runs along the upper portion of the legend within a plain inner circle and milled outer border. |
