Reverse description The reverse presents a richly detailed Baroque scene depicting Pope Innocent XII enthroned at left, wearing papal vestments and tiara, receiving or addressing supplicant figures in an attitude of intercession and benediction. At center, a pedestal supports a small sculptural figure, while additional kneeling or standing figures complete the composition in the right field, evoking themes of papal mediation and the pursuit of peace. The date 1695 appears in the lower exergue, flanked by a small papal emblem. The circumferential Latin legend ROGATE QVAE AD PACEM SVNT, a quotation from Psalm 121:6 meaning 'Pray for the things that are for the peace thereof,' frames the entire scene. The die cutting, attributed to Giovanni Hamerani, demonstrates exceptional narrative detail and sculptural depth.
