Obverse description Centrally positioned papal coat of arms of Innocent XI (Odescalchi), featuring a quartered shield with a rampant lion in the upper half and three cups (goblets) in the lower half, surmounted by the papal tiara and flanked by crossed keys — the traditional symbols of the Apostolic See. The shield is set within elaborate baroque cartouche mantling. The circular legend reads INNOCEN٠XI٠PONT٠MAX٠AN٠I around the periphery, with a beaded border encircling the entire design.
