| Obverse description | Central field occupied by the elaborate heraldic arms of Pope Innocent XI (Benedetto Odescalchi), displaying a crowned shield quartered with an eagle and a lion passant, surmounted by the papal tiara and crossed keys — the traditional symbols of pontifical authority. The shield is set within an ornate baroque cartouche with foliate flourishes. The circular legend reads INNOCENTIVS XI PONT MAX, distributed around the periphery, with a reeded border encircling the entire design. |
