Obverse description Papal coat of arms of Clement XI (Albani family shield bearing a six-pointed star above three hills) displayed centrally, surmounted by the papal tiara and crossed keys, the whole flanked by symmetrical laurel branches. The heraldic shield is rendered in high relief with fine engraving. The circular Latin legend reading CLEMENS XI PONT M A III surrounds the design, with the pontifical year numeral positioned to the right of the field.

Reverse description A draped table depicted in three-quarter perspective at center, upon which rest several bulging money bags, all contained within a raised inner circle. The composition alludes to the Papal Treasury and the motto of financial stewardship. The date 1703 appears in the lower exergual area flanked by ornamental stars, while the full circular Latin legend IMPERAT AVT SERVIT occupies the outer border, expressing the maxim that money either commands or serves.
