| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field displays the heraldic arms of Cardinal Antonio Barberini, featuring the distinctive Barberini bees on the escutcheon, surmounted by a cardinal's hat with pendant tassels and flanked by the crossed keys of Saint Peter beneath the papal umbrella (umbraculum). The shield is set within an ornate baroque cartouche with elaborate foliate and scroll decoration. The circumferential Latin legend is separated from the central device by a plain inner ring, and the entire design is bordered by a beaded rim. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
The 1667 Sede Vacante followed the death of Alexander VII in May of that year, with Cardinal Antonio Barberini serving as Camerlengo — the office responsible for administering the Holy See during the interregnum and authorizing coinage struck in that interval. The Barberini family's political grip on Rome had softened considerably since the reign of Urban VIII, and Antonio's camerlengship was a late chapter in that dynasty's influence over papal affairs.
Sede Vacante issues were struck in strictly limited quantities for the duration of the vacancy alone, which in this case lasted roughly two months before Clement IX was elected in June.
