| Obverse description | Draped bust of Pope Alexander VIII facing right, wearing a camauro and richly embroidered mozetta with elaborate floral and foliate decoration. The effigy portrays the aged pontiff with flowing hair and a short beard, rendered in high relief in the Baroque style. The engraver's initials A·T·F· (Antonio Travani Fecit) appear in the lower field beneath the truncation. The circular Latin legend reads ·ALEXANDER·VIII·PONT·MAX·A·I·, denoting his title as Supreme Pontiff and regnal year. The coin's milled border frames the design with a fine toothed edge. |
