| Reverse description | Saint George, armoured and on horseback, charges to the right and drives his lance downward to slay the dragon prostrate beneath the horse's hooves. In the lower portion of the field, the Spada family arms (the arms of the papal legate), the civic arms of Ferrara, and the IS mintmaster's monogram are arranged horizontally as a three-part heraldic device below the scene. The composition is bold and dynamic, enclosed within a beaded circle with the reverse legend distributed around the outer border. |
