| Obverse description | Central field bears a multi-line Arabic religious legend arranged in four lines, reading the Shahada and the name of the Prophet. The inscription, boldly cast in raised relief, reads 'Muhammad Rasul Allah / La ilaha illa Allah' (Muhammad is the Messenger of God / There is no God but Allah), with the AH date 1283 prominently displayed in Arabic-Indic numerals along the lower register. The calligraphy is rendered in a regional Central Asian hand, typical of Khotanese cast coinage of the period. The coin exhibits an irregular flan with slightly uneven edges characteristic of the cast technique. |
