| Obverse description | Central oval shield bearing the Rohan family arms — a field charged with nine lozenges arranged in three rows — enclosed within a decorative oval cartouche and flanked by laurel sprays. A princely crown surmounts the shield. The circular legend reads F·EMMANUEL DE ROHAN M·, with the N in ROHAN appearing in retrograde on this variety (KM#307.2). The overall composition is characteristic of late 18th-century Maltese coinage under the Knights Hospitaller. |
