Reverse description Central field presents a four-line Kufic Arabic inscription arranged within an inner circle, with a separating dot between the two central lines, in close imitation of the Fatimid quarter-dinar prototype. The inscription is surrounded by a circular marginal legend in Kufic Arabic, the entire design executed in the characteristic flat, linear style of hammered Norman-Sicilian gold coinage.
