| Obverse description | Crowned and draped bust of Carlos II facing right, rendered in high relief in the Baroque style, with long flowing hair cascading over the shoulders and an ornate crown atop the head. The king is attired in a richly draped mantle secured at the breast with a decorative clasp. The circular Latin legend reads CAR·II·D·G·REX·HISP·ET·NEAP·, running clockwise around the effigy. The coin's edge is finely reeded, and the overall die work reflects the vigorous engraving tradition of the Naples mint in the late seventeenth century. |
