A solid raised circle divides this primary legend band from a narrower outer ring of additional pseudo-Kufic inscription. This deliberate imitation of Fatimid quarter-dinar iconography reflects the coin's role as a commercial currency designed to circulate alongside Islamic gold coinage in Mediterranean trade. |
