Reverse description Hammered silver tanka reverse displaying densely packed Arabic legends in Naskh script arranged across the entire field without a central geometric panel, in contrast to the obverse. The inscription records the Abbasid caliph's title and the sultan's claim to legitimacy, reading 'Yamin Khalifat Allah Nasir Amir al-Mu'minin Khallada Mulkahu' (Right hand of the Caliph of God, supporter of the Commander of the Faithful, may his reign endure). The lettering is bold and deeply struck, characteristic of Bengal Sultanate hammered coinage of the mid-fourteenth century. The flan is slightly irregular in shape, consistent with hand-struck production. No mint name or date appears on this face, those elements being reserved for the obverse.
