Obverse description Central field occupied by a multi-line Arabic legend in bold Naskh script arranged within a decorative square cartouche, reading 'Sher Shah Sultan khallada Allahu mulkahu' (Sher Shah the Sultan, may God perpetuate his reign). A marginal floral or foliate border encircles the cartouche, with additional calligraphic elements filling the outer ring of the flan. The strike is typical of the hammered Bengal-type coinage, with slightly irregular flan edges and characteristic flat relief lettering.
