Reverse description The reverse is similarly dominated by a multi-line Arabic legend in bold Naskh script, reading 'Al-Khalifa Amir al-Mu'minin khulidat khilafatahu' (The Caliph, Commander of the Faithful, may his caliphate endure), a pious formula acknowledging Abbasid suzerainty. The inscription is arranged in three horizontal registers across the full width of the flan, with raised letters standing prominently against the flat field. No border, mint name, or date appears on this face, consistent with many issues of the Jaunpur Sultanate. The irregular edge and uneven strike reflect the hand-hammered production technique of the mint.
