| Obverse description | Hammered billon flan of irregular round form bearing a bold Arabic legend in two or three lines across the field, executed in a robust Naskh-influenced hand characteristic of Gujarat Sultanate coinage. The central inscription occupies the majority of the die area with large, deeply struck characters. The regnal year 942 AH appears as the principal legend, confirming the date of issue within the reign of Qutb-ud-Din Bahadur Shah. The field shows the characteristic uneven surface of a hammered strike, with natural flow lines and die-sink irregularities visible around the legend. No decorative border or inner circle is present, consistent with the utilitarian style of mid-sixteenth-century Gujarat billon tankas. |
