Qutb al-Din Ahmad Shah II ruled Gujarat for just seven years before being murdered by his own nobles in 1458 — a reign marked by court intrigue severe enough that his administration left almost no documentary record beyond the coins themselves. The Sultanate's copper coinage from this period was struck under conditions of considerable political instability, and issues attributable specifically to his reign are correspondingly scarce.
