Reverse description The reverse presents a circular field entirely occupied by a two-register Arabic legend, divided horizontally by a plain rule, all contained within a dotted or beaded inner border. The upper register displays the regnal name and honorific of Sultan Mahmud Shah in bold, deeply struck Arabic calligraphy, while the lower register carries his nasab and title identifying him as son of Muhammad Shah. The marginal legend in Arabic runs around the circumference within the beaded border, providing additional elements of the royal titulature. The overall layout is consistent with standard Gujarati tanka typology of the Mahmud Begada period, with the characteristically dense, interlocking letterforms of the Muhammadabad mint. Slight die-shift and flan irregularity are visible, as is typical of hammered issues of this series.
