Obverse description Central field occupied by multi-line Arabic legend in bold naskh script, rendered in high relief against a flat flan. The inscription, arranged in horizontal registers across the field, proclaims the royal titulature of the sultan. Characteristic of Bengal Sultanate hammered coinage, the legends extend nearly to the irregular flan edge, with no border or decorative framing element. The strike is typical of the period, with slightly uneven distribution of metal resulting in areas of weakness at the periphery.
