| Reverse description | Hammered billon tanka with the entire reverse field filled by a multi-line Arabic inscription in Naskh script arranged horizontally. The legend proclaims the royal titulature of the sultan, identifying him as al-Sultan al-Sa'id al-Shahid Tughluq Shah, accompanied by the AH regnal year written out in words. The inscription is framed by a plain incuse border, and dot separators appear between certain lines. The bold, deeply struck lettering is characteristic of the irregular hammered tankas of Muhammad bin Tughluq's reign. |
