Obverse description Central field bearing a multi-line Arabic Naskh legend arranged within a plain inner circle, conveying the sultan's titles and affirmations of faith. A continuous circular marginal legend in Arabic script runs within a raised border, encircling the central inscription. The overall design is typical of Tughluq-period hammered coinage, with bold, deeply struck lettering filling the flan. The flan is irregular in shape, consistent with hand-struck production at the Delhi mint.
