| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse bears a multi-line Arabic inscription in bold Naskh script filling the field, invoking the Abbasid Caliph with the honorific formula acknowledging his spiritual authority. The legend reads 'al-khalifa amir al-mu'minin khulidat khilafatahu' (the Caliph, Commander of the Faithful, may his caliphate endure). The AH regnal date appears prominently within the inscription field. The die-struck lettering is raised in high relief against a flat, unadorned field typical of hammered billon coinage of the Jaunpur Sultanate. No border or decorative frame is present, the inscription occupying the full flan. |
