| Obverse description | Stylized lion of Tripura depicted in running posture to the left, rendered in a characteristic regional artistic style. The lion motif, a dynastic emblem of the Manikya rulers, is set within the field and surrounded by a decorative border incorporating floral or geometric ornamental elements. Bengali script legend accompanies the central device, framing the composition within the defined border. |

| Additional information |
Amara Manikya ruled Tripura from roughly 1577 to 1585, a period of persistent conflict with the Mughal-backed Bengal Sultanate. The tanka denomination itself was inherited from the Bengal Sultanate's monetary system — its adoption by Tripura's rulers reflects the political and commercial pressures facing a small hill kingdom navigating between larger powers.
KM#90 is sparsely documented in the major auction records, and surviving examples are infrequently offered.
