Additional information

The Aq Qoyunlu — the Turkmen "White Sheep" confederation — were in terminal collapse during the window this tanka was struck. Abu'l-Muzaffar Muhammad held Simnan only briefly as the Safavid advance under Ismail I dismantled what remained of Uzun Hasan's former domain. By 1501 the dynasty was effectively finished. Coins from these final claimants were struck in dwindling numbers across fragmenting mints, each ruler scrambling to assert legitimacy through silver that circulated for almost no time at all.
