| Descripción del anverso | The Portuguese royal coat of arms, surmounted by a crown, occupies the central field within a beaded inner border. The shield displays the characteristic quinas (five escutcheons) of Portugal arranged in a cross pattern. The mint letters G and A flank the shield to the left and right respectively, serving as the assayer or mint-master initials for the Goa mint. The design is rendered in the hammered style typical of Portuguese colonial coinage of the early seventeenth century. |

The composition is enclosed within a beaded border and reflects the devotional iconographic tradition common to Portuguese colonial silver coinage of the reign of João IV. |
