| Reverse description | Central device displays the royal cypher of Philip III (Filipe III) rendered as an ornate crowned monogram, formed by interlaced letters in a Gothic style, set within the coin field. A prominent beaded border encircles the design, clearly struck and well-defined despite the irregular hammered flan. The field surrounding the monogram is plain and slightly worn, consistent with the age and circulation history of this colonial silver issue. No mint mark or additional legend is present, identifying this piece as the variety struck without mint letters at the Ceilão mint. |
