Bar tokens in script or chit form were common throughout rural Wisconsin well into the late twentieth century, typically issued to manage tab credit or pre-paid drink rounds. A laminated format suggests this was intended for repeated handling — single-use paper chits weren't worth the lamination cost, so this almost certainly circulated back and forth across the bar rather than being surrendered on redemption.
New London sits at the confluence of the Wolf and Embarrass rivers. Whether that geography has anything to do with the pub's name or its drinks program, the catalog won't say.
