| Obverse description | Unadorned bust of Malietoa Tanumafili II in left-facing profile, occupying the central field of the coin. The effigy is rendered in a plain, naturalistic style without regalia or drapery. The encircling legend reads 'MALETOA TANUMAFILI II SAMOA I SISIFO', distributed around the periphery following the heptagonal flan. The engraver's initials 'HP' appear incuse beneath the truncation of the neck. |
