Obverse description King Constantine IV depicted on horseback in right profile, the monarch shown as a fully armored equestrian figure with a cross-bearing crown or crest atop his helmet, lance or scepter raised in the right hand. The horse is shown in a walking or prancing pose. The entire central device is enclosed within a beaded inner border, with an Armenian legend distributed around the periphery of the flan reading the royal titulature.
