| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field bearing bold Nagari script characters arranged in a cruciform or grid pattern, typical of the regal coinage of Alwar state issued in the name of Mughal emperor Shah Alam II. The inscription is rendered in high relief against a roughly textured flan, characteristic of hammered copper coinage of the period. The lettering fills the majority of the field, with minimal border treatment on the irregular, hand-struck planchet. |
