Nagari or symbolic devices typical of Bikaner copper coinage are present, along with regnal year indications. The flan is irregular and thick, consistent with hand-struck copper issues of this Rajput princely state, with the design occupying the central field surrounded by a plain, unbordered rim. |

Bikaner's copper coinage of this period occupies an awkward historical moment: Shah Alam II, in whose name this takka was struck, had by 1799 been blinded and effectively imprisoned by the Maratha chief Ghulam Qadir since 1788, rendering the Mughal emperor a legal fiction invoked purely for minting legitimacy. Ratan Singh ruled Bikaner from 1787 to 1787 — an extraordinarily brief reign — making coins issued under his name genuinely scarce by simple arithmetic of time.
