Man Singh ruled Jodhpur from 1803 to 1843 under increasingly complicated terms with the East India Company, signing a subsidiary alliance in 1818 that placed British troops in the state at Jodhpur's own expense. KM#14 copper coinage from Jodhpur is frequently found well-worn, consistent with heavy bazaar use in a commercially active region along the Thar Desert trade routes.
