Obverse description Central to the design is the National Emblem of Bangladesh, featuring a water lily enclosed within an octagonal frame bearing the face value. The emblem is flanked on either side by rice ears, with a three-leaf spray of tea leaves surmounting the design. Four stars appear above the emblem, symbolising the founding constitutional principles of nationalism, secularism, socialism, and democracy as enshrined in the 1972 constitution. The legend ONE TAKA appears within the octagonal border. The overall design is executed in a formal heraldic style typical of official state emblems.
