Obverse description Central rectangular cartouche enclosing four Chinese characters in seal script reading 'Ji Lin Guan Yin' (吉林官銀, Jilin Official Silver), rendered in bold relief. The cartouche is surrounded by a dynamic pair of confronting dragons rendered in intricate low relief, their sinuous bodies coiling around the central inscription and filling the field. The entire design is bordered by a continuous outer ring of raised pellets or beads, framing the composition in the traditional Chinese numismatic manner.
