Obverse description The Ecuadorian national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a condor with spread wings atop an oval shield containing Mount Chimborazo, a steamship on the river, and the sun above. The circular legend REPUBLICA DEL ECUADOR runs along the upper periphery, with the date 1975 displayed in the lower exergue. The design is struck in high relief on a broad flan with a polished brass finish.
