Reverse description Central device features a radiate bundle of arrows — the symbol of the United Provinces — set vertically and dividing the denomination numeral '1' to the left and 'S' to the right. The entire central motif is encircled by a decorative wreath of stylized tulip blossoms and foliage, a characteristic ornamental device of Zeeland provincial coinage, giving the type its popular name 'Bezemstuiver' (broom stuiver).
