| Obverse description | Central field displays a crowned six-fold quartered coat of arms of the Duchy of Cleves, with the denomination numerals I and S flanking the shield on either side. The arms are rendered in the heraldic style typical of early seventeenth-century German territorial coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central device, reading NVMMVS.CLIVENSIS (Coin of Kleve), separated from the inner device by a beaded inner border. |

| Reverse description | Central field features an elaborate ornate cross with floriated terminals, occupying the majority of the coin's surface and dividing the field into four quarters. The cross is rendered with decorative foliate detailing characteristic of late Renaissance German die-cutting. A circular Latin legend surrounds the cross, reading MO. A - RG: CV - SVS: E - MBRI(C), identifying the coin as a silver issue struck at the mint of Emmerich, separated from the central motif by a beaded border. |
