Reverse description Central design features a cross pattée with a fleur-de-lis at the foot and a crown at the top arm, with the crossbar ornamented by small trefoils or fleurs at each terminal. At the centre of the cross, a small annulet or pellet forms the junction. In each of the four angles of the cross, a small heraldic device — alternating lions and fleurs-de-lis — occupies the field. The whole is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the circumferential Latin legend distributed between the inner circle and the coin's irregular hammered edge.
