Reverse description A long cross with anchor-shaped arm terminals and a floral motif at the center occupies the field, dividing the reverse legend into four segments. The cross is set within a beaded inner circle, itself inscribed within a quadrilobe, whose cusped lobes extend into the four quarters formed by the cross arms. The date 1499 appears within the legend, a feature characteristic of Philip the Handsome's monetary issues for Holland. The overall composition reflects the standard Burgundian patard reverse design, with the religious invocation distributed across the four quadrants of the legend.
