Reverse description Central device features a floriated quadrilobe or cross-in-quadrilobe ornament, formed by four curved lobes meeting at a central point, a characteristic decorative motif of Burgundian Low Countries coinage of this period. Small fleurs-de-lis or foliate elements appear in the spandrels between the lobes. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the pious Latin legend SIT + NOMEN + DNI + BNEDICTV (Blessed be the name of the Lord) running around the outer border in uncial script. The reverse field shows the characteristic flat, slightly worn surface typical of circulated hammered billon coinage of the late fifteenth century.
