| Obverse description | The entire field is occupied by the Latin place name ZEELANDIA arranged in three bold lines across the coin, serving as the primary design element in lieu of a traditional effigy. A mint mark device appears centrally above the inscription, flanked by two five-pointed stars, while the date 1755 is inscribed in the exergue below. The legend and date are rendered in large, deeply struck serif capital letters characteristic of Dutch provincial gold coinage of the mid-eighteenth century. A finely beaded border encircles the entire design. |
