| Obverse description | Within a beaded inner circle, the quartered crowned arms of Austria-Burgundy are depicted on a heraldic shield surmounted by an ornate crown. The composite shield displays the dynastic quarterings of the Habsburg-Burgundian inheritance, rendered in the Gothic style characteristic of early sixteenth-century Low Countries coinage. The surrounding field is enclosed by a beaded border, with the Latin legend distributed around the periphery between the inner circle and the coin's irregular edge. Cross stops and abbreviation marks punctuate the inscription throughout. |
