| Beschrijving keerzijde | A biga (two-horse chariot) driven at full gallop to the right, with a charioteer wielding a goad or whip above. The horses are rendered in the energetic, stylised manner typical of Gaulish coinage, with exaggerated musculature and splayed legs. A symbol resembling a trident or three-pronged device appears below the horses in the lower field. The Greek legend ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ is inscribed in the exergue, a direct inheritance from the Philip II gold stater prototype upon which this Celticised imitation is based. |
