| Obverse description | Brahmi inscription in the field reading 'ra ja bha ta', rendered in bold, deeply struck characters across the irregular flan. The legends are arranged in a somewhat scattered fashion characteristic of early medieval Bengali coinage, with additional decorative or symbolic elements visible in the surrounding field. The script is executed in a crude but vigorous hammered style typical of Samatata regional gold issues of the late 7th century. |
